This is a nice break from the winter while enjoying colorful quilt shops along the Oregon Coast. February can be a beautiful time of year to travel along scenic hwy 101. We have frequently had lovely clear days that can be surprisingly warm on our past tours. Sometimes, stormier weather has rolled in that show off the crashing ocean waves. This tour includes The Latimer Quilt & Textile Center in Lincoln City. It is a vibrant, living, working museum whose mission is to preserve, promote, display, and facilitate the crea-tion of and provide education about the textile arts. Our visit includes an private group experience called ""Bed Turning" where quilts are placed on top of each other on a bed and then turned back one by one while stories are told about each quilt. The stories can include the history of the quilt, the images used, and the fabrics and materials used to make it. On the way, visit Quilt Shops in Astoria and Cannon Beach. On the return, make additional quilt shop stops in Newport and McMinnville. Not a quilter, but want to come along. Just spend your time exploring the small town shops and attractions along the way.
