Preparation for the sausage festival takes months. The sauerkraut alone takes six weeks to ferment in fifty gallon buckets! Nearly all of the food served is local and handmade. Sausage is ground and smoked on the parish grounds with a family recipe passed down through the generations. During your visit there is a Quilt Raffle, Fancy Work, Plant Booth, Beer Garden, Craft Bazaar, Bingo, Bake Sale, Potholder Game, and a Country Store. In addition on the way home we will stop to purchase Oregon hazelnuts direct from the farmer for a fraction on what you would pay in the stores.
